Shopping for a new car just got a whole lot easier for Canadians, at least for those who are looking to spend the least amount as possible for a new vehicle.
On sale as you read this, the new for the Canadian market place 2015 Nissan Micra has a base price of only $9,998, before taxes and destination charge. This price is simply out of this world, especially considering that even the base S model comes well equipped with relatively robust 1.6 litre, 109 horsepower inline 4, which is very decent, especially considering that some other economy cars on the market only make do with a 3 cylinder making under 100 horsepower. Not bad.
You can order your Micra with an optional 4-speed automatic, which adds about $1000 to the price. Fuel economy is good, with an estimated
8.6/6.6 City/Hwy L/100 km, fuel economy rating. Note that these numbers are based on Natural Resources Canada's new guidelines, meaning they are very realistic numbers.
The SV adds air conditioning, power windows and heated mirrors along with Bluetooth connectivity and power doors and locks. It starts at $13, 698. The SR model starts at $15,748 and adds a host of other features such a fog lights, alloy wheels, back-up camera, leather wrapped steering wheel, and other more.
What makes this car so surreal however is its price, which simply cannot be beat. The competition will be sweating bullets for sure however full judgment will have to wait until we have had a chance to test drive a Micra in the real world of city stop and go traffic. Check out www.nissan.ca for all the details.
